ReAnkos Counseling Center offers individual, couple, and child play therapy to the English speaking clients. Free medication consultation is provided by Dr. Chen, MD, psychiatrist and the founder of ReAnKos. At the Center, we generally deal with issues relating to mood and anxiety disorders, problems in relationships and cross-cultural marriages, life adjustment, childhood abuse, and more.
Each provider brings a different set of expertise to the areas of our profession. By making available provider information on our website, we hope to assist you in making an informed choice before setting up your first appointment. For detailed information on more specific areas of counseling provided by our therapists, just click on the individual photos. A free Q&A will be added to our website, so that you have an opportunity to “speak” to a potential therapist, and to get a “feel” for the therapist beforehand.
Again, we hope that our counseling services can promote support and a better quality of life while you are living in Taipei.
Frequent Asked Questions
Q: How do I set up my first appointment at your counseling center?
A: If you speak English only, you may call our voice mail at (2)2771-9372 and leave a message for the therapist with whom you would like to set up an appointment. If you can speak Chinese, you may also call our Chinese phone line at (2)272-11526, or simply fill out the brief contact information from the homepage under "Contact Us," and select the counselor of your preference. That therapist will get back to you within 24-48 hours.
Q: If after reading the intro to all the therapists, I am still not able to select a therapist, what do I do?
A: You may try the online Q&A by posting a counseling related question to the therapist of your preference, before setting up an initial appointment. This will give you a “feel” for what the therapist is like and whether she seems like a good fit and would be able to work with you on your issues.
Q: Does your counseling center provide after hours emergency mental health services?
A: Unfortunately we don’t provide after hours emergency services at this time. If a problem arises after business hours or on Sundays, you may call our voice mail at (2)2771-9372. Your counselor will try to get back to you as soon as she can. Our office hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:00AM to 9:00 PM.
Q: How long is each appointment?
A: Individual Counseling appointments are generally 50 to 60 minutes long. Couple counseling appointments are 90 minutes. The total time period required for the initial consultation or intake appointment is approximately 90 minutes, so be sure to keep this in mind when scheduling your appointment.
